ARTIST RESUME
Krzysztof Machulewski was born in Warsaw, Poland where he lived until 1986. It was only in the mid 80's that his interest in the visual arts was channelled into films, videos, and photography. He developed an artistic interest in various artistic venues such as avant-garde art films, and art photography. From 1986 to 1989, he travelled throughout Europe staying in Greece, Italy, Switzerland and Germany. During these years in Europe Krzysztof developed a keen interest in the Visual Arts. In 1994 Krzysztof established himself as a television producer for a Toronto television station and as an artist. His passion for the Fine Art Photography expanded to include the artistic venues of video installation, digital art and mixed media on canvas.
In the same year Krzysztof presented his video collage at the grand opening of the Maximiliam Kolbe Foundation, Polish Culture Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Most of his artwork is exhibited and sold on the Internet. He has been featured on various art and photography websites, such as: absolutearts.com, myartspace.com, art.com, artistsincanada.com, photolinks.com, eyeoftheart.com, art71.com, artfest.com, photographersplace.com, profotos.com, etc. Krzysztof Machulewski is currently featured in a Biographic dictionary 'Polacy W Kanadzie' - The Biographies of Polish Canadians Living in Canada (The 'who is who' publication devoted to Polish Canadians).
His photographs and art on canvas are a blend of trance, mood, visionary mysticism, desire and passion. They comprises of individual studies of human form, portraits, nudes as well as landscapes and architectures. Machulewski's photography comprises of digital and 35mm film. His photographs are predominately monochromatic but colours are also included in his line of work. Believing that the eye of photographer not the type of camera makes the picture, Machulewski's photographs offer high impact at first sight. His fresh look at photography motivates many rising and recognized artists looking for an inspiration. In his artwork on canvas, Krzysztof apply various techniques such as photography, digital art, giclée, use of acrylic paint, self prepared stains and inks.

ARTIST STATEMENT
The passion and inspiration I encounter for my pictures runs from the hands of the creator, the nature and my models. My creative process usually sparks a brainwave, inspired by the light seeping through a dark forest, the smell of mature wine, or the sounds of the leisurely flowing stream. I embark on a vision that leads me to an artistic evolution.
Before I start I like to know my subject, to open their eyes enough for me to see their soul. To me a model's figure is like a sculpturer mound of clay. In my work I am not looking for a perfect nude body, but for a nude form that will inspire me to create my artwork.
When I travel I'm in pursuit of unique architectures and places which could be named "feast for the eye and soul" and expressed through my eyes in the forms of photographs and pictures.
